It has been exactly 1 month since I last updated my blog. Some of you may thought I may have dropped dead…well almost. Life has been hectic in the last 1 month, with renovation, packing, cleaning, shopping, and on top of this, the normal daily routine.
In order to cut cost, decided to do quite a bit of DIY stuff, and the most satisfied one has to be my door chime. You see, HDB has a pair of wire laid (concealed) from the door bell to this place in the living room. It has a conceal casing, but the only problem is, it is round. And it almost impossible to find a round door chime, so I got a Legrande door chime with a square conceal casing. Sounds simple, remove the round conceal casing, put in the new square one, fix up the door chime. But life is not so simple, hacking to remove the round casing and making it big enough to fit the square one is not as easy as I thought. With a little help from my dad in the final stages, I finally managed to install it. Then it is time to fill the gap, connect the door chime and fix it up.
Here are some pictures of the entire process:

Not an easy job but totally satisfied when it is done, but during the process almost gave up many times.
Beyond that, most things are ready and once the kitchen cabinet comes in this Thursday, the shower screen and painting touch up on Wednesday, we will be all ready to move it on Saturday (12 April 08), so hopefully not more delay in the schedule.
The reason we are in a rush is Denver’s exam is coming, so want to settle all this first and he can concentrate on his studies.
BTW it’s Darien’s birthday yesterday and we had a family gathering at Botak Jones Toa Payoh North. We have a great time them eating from Botak Jones (of coz right), the Italian stall (for nice pasta and pizza + this huge curry puff looking thing that I don’t know what it is called) and also great brownies and waffles (with ice cream may I add) from the Chocolate Hearts. Weather is getting a bit hot (compare to the last few months) but it is still a nice place to go. Don’t ask me how much I spent in total, I just PAP (pay and pay)
Still have not try the Jap and Thai stall there, maybe too much things to eat. Someday I should try them. I was so busy recently that I even forgot to bring my camera there! Gosh, what a moment missed. Also forgot to bring the special 2 years old Winnie the Pooh candle that we bought from Ebay USA. *sigh* So we just do it as home, can’t use the candle next year anyway.

Till the next report!
Happy Birthday Darien,
May our good Lord bless you.
May you be a great man of God.
